With Mother’s Day quickly approaching (Sunday, May 11th) I wanted to take a little time and come up with 61 reasons why moms are our heroes. I know that my mom is my hero for many reasons, but I want some feedback from you and hear why your mom is your hero!

1. She calls me everyday to remind me to call her.

2. My mom loves UT sports - football, basketball, whatever season it is!

3. My mom listens to me complain about how much it costs to fill up my SUV and never tells me to get a smaller car.

4. She goes shopping with me and tells me that I look great in a bikini (with a straight face.)

5. My mom always puts other’s needs before her own and thinks of herself last.

6. My mom was smart enough to let my dad teach me to drive.

7. She loves my girls even more than me at times!

8. My mom chose my dad.

9. My mom is a woman that I am proud to call my friend.

10. She knows who is having the best sales at the mall on any given day and what salesperson to see to check out.

11. My mom loves Jesus!

12. My mom has a servant’s heart.

I love watching how mom takes care of dad. She has taught me through her actions how to love your husband.

I am Kaci’s hero because I take her to church and I want her to know about the Lord.

Hannah appreciates that her mom compliments her and spends quality time with her.

Mom is my best friend. We can laugh, shop, be goofy and cry all in one girls day out.

My Mom is a hero because she allows me to express my feelings and be emotional when the need arises, but then speaks truth to me concerning the situation at hand.

“Nita always has the best coupons.”(& shares) My Mom always lets me know when my upper body fat is getting out of control.

My mom is a hero because she has always been a constant force in my life. One of the qualities I love most about her is her truthfulness and faithfulness. She raised us in a Christian home and loved us inspite of our mistakes.

I would have to say… because my Mom isn’t afraid to mow her huge lawn in her teeny bikini… so she’s always made me know how to be comfortable in my own skin.

My mom truly lives the saying, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.” She never stoops to gossiping or saying unkind things about anyone else.

My mom would sooner die than someone she loves do without. Even though I’m not a mom yet, nor will I be any time really soon…. but I know that 1. Moms really are the ulitimate decision maker in the family. and 2. They rarely ever get the credit for it. And… just for the record, Cyndi, you happen to be one of the best moms I have ever come across.. I hope we can all take a note! :)

My Mother taught me about Jesus and His love by living out that love in her own life.

My mom is my hero because she is my best friend, never comdemning me, but always supporting and encouraging me. She loves with the God-kind (agape) of love. My biggest praise to her is that she never told me she divorced my father because he was physically abusive to her until I was 13 because she wanted me to love him and not hate him. Wow! She also taught me how to pray.

My mom is my hero. She taught me to be strong, yet always show compassion. She taught me life isn’t always fair, but alot of life is how you react and what you make it. She taught me that prayer can move mountains, and when the going gets tough the tough turn to God. She taught me that no dream is too big, and if I want to sing….sing with all my heart, not just part of it. She taught me that people may not remember what you say, what they will remember how you treat them. My mom believes in me, and when she looks at me, I can truly see in her eyes, she loves me. And as I sit here and type through the tears, that’s really all I need to know from my mom….my hero.

My Mom always made things special for us. Not just holidays, but things that would normally be ordinary. Our pancakes were heart shaped with chocolate chips and we always made snow cream on snow days. Now she does the same things for my niece and nephew. These things made us feel special when we were young and they still do today. She is the kind of mother everyone wishes they had.
